White Heat are often described as an Alternative Indie Rock band although their influences span much wider. Formed in Maidstone, Kent they are something of an anomaly for their hometown. Surrounded by an intense binge drinking culture obsessed with House and Pop and a zeitgeist peppered with the lad rock of the last decade. White Heat have tucked themselves in amongst it all.
All current members of the group have played together in different projects since 2010 but began writing under the name White Heat in 2015. Experimenting as a three piece they brought together their mutual love for the alternative, art and indie rock they were raised on. They spent a whole year working on material and played their first show at the famous Fiddlers Elbow in Camden in 2016.
2017 Saw a breakthrough and their sound became bigger than ever. Jangly riffs and thoughtful vocal melodies met an almost grunge like grit. Having had an early demo of their track The Neon Strange get radio play on BBC Introducing in Kent, White Heat went on to play extensively in London and Kent and have built a reputation for themselves locally.
The group have been compared to many that have come before them. Some they can understand others they really don’t. There’s a very strong feeling around the band that they can’t be put in a box and they love it.
In 2018 they released their debut single The Blues and a year later theyreturned to the studio to continue showcasing their peerless sound to audiences all over, with the release of their EP ‘Songs for No One’. White Heat are another name to add to the ever growing pool of talent that can be found in Kent.
