Oskar Vilcrow – Maidstone Fringe Magazine

Oskar Vilcrow

Oskar Vilcrow are a three piece alternative rock / post-punk band, who have variously been compared to Shellac, The Fall and Wire, with a love for all things left-field, grunge laden and strewn with satisfying feedback, lyrically and sonically out-there, cheerfully by-passing the current indie band obsession with tapping into the pop market and heading to where the noise and energy lives.

Their underground but well received eponymous debut album is followed up by the second offering ‘Mild Threat’, eight roughly hewn gems filled with memorable riffs and stories about real things, and the stuff of imaginaversiontion. A live offering ‘Bootleg Overdrive’ is also available combining recordings from various gigs and festivals over recent years, and features an extended version of live favourite ‘The Hunter’.
