The Petty Thieves

The Petty Thieves capture that moment of a hot summers day at your favourite festival skanking your heart out…and they’ve put it into an explosive 8 piece sleazy Reggae/Ska band from the dirty suburbs of Medway, Kent.
With their modern take on Reggae & Ska the Thieves blend elements of Indie, Funk and soul into their upbeat party sound to bring you a soundtrack to any summers day!

Since early 2016 The Petty Thieves have quickly established themselves in the local music scene, putting their dirty Reggae footprint firmly down in the Medway towns. The Thieves released their E.P ‘Better Things’ in 2017 leading them to play shows up and down the country.

2018 saw The Thieves release their debut album “The Right To What Is Wrong”. Since then they have supported the likes of Terry Hall (lead singer from the specials), The Skatalites, Dub Pistols, Bad Manners, Natty, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, NYC’s The Toasters, Backbeat Soundsystem, Captain Accident, Tankus The Henge, Mr B, Imperial Leisure & many more!
Among supporting some big names the Thieves have also taken the underground festival scene by storm, playing the likes of Maui Waui Festival, Jurassic Fields Festival, Smallworld Festival, Gig In The Park, One Love Festival (played for 3 years including headlining the kaya stage and mainstage performaces), Tonbridge Calling, Ey Up Mi Duck Festival, Chin Up Festival, Tonbridge Calling and more.

With 2020 set to be The Thieves biggest year yet, they have a brand new EP taking their sound to the next level. ‘From Destruction to Paradise’ is to be released at the end of spring. You can catch them playing their new material at the likes of Bearded Theory Festival, Larmer Tree Festival, Smallworld Festival, Staycation Festival and many more.

The Petty Thieves with their upbeat sleazy Reggae sound will steal your heart but not your belongings and keep you skanking through the night, they are on the move and you’re all invited to the party!
