Frederic – Maidstone Fringe Magazine

Frederic Cafe Bistro is a very popular French restaurant, located at the junction of Market Buildings and Earl Street. Run by chef-patron Ulric Allsebrook, who draws on his cultural upbringing in the Dordogne region of South West France, where “good food and good wine marry themselves to good company”. He is passionate about good quality ingredients and favours seasonal produce and local suppliers whenever possible. He describes Frederic’s menu as “French Peasant Cooking”. Frederic’s also has an extensive selection of fine wine in addition to homemade cakes and puddings prepared by Ulric’s wife Sarah.

There is a regular live acoustic music night on the 2nd/3rd Wednesday of each month, running from 8pm – 10pm, featuring local performers.
